New to Ally Bally Bee - Ridgefield reared lambswool garments from The Hickories

So I’m not one to blog, Twitter, Snapchat or even Instagram. I never even post on Pinterest despite loving having a quick browse every now and then. But today’s snow (Saturday) has given me the gift of a few extra minutes as we closed a little early around 430pm when the roads started getting really bad. I crawled home and sat in front of a wonderfully cozy roaring fire with my husband and 2 dogs!
I quietly contemplated the fun Carol, Sue and I had today in the store. We had such great chat with our brave and loyal friends who visited us despite the snow and we were able to share our excitement as we welcomed our newest artist - I know I said no more artists until the New Year, but I couldn’t say no!
Did you know that we have our very own organic farm in Ridgefield just a couple of miles form the store? In addition to growing CSA certified organic fruit and veg, The Hickories has their very own flock of finnsheep and alpaca. In a wonderful effort of sustaining locally grown farm produce "The Hickories" have a limited supply of beautiful products made from a blend of finnsheep and alpaca yarn now available at Ally Bally Bee (fleeces locally carded, spun and woven in Eastford, CT). This includes soft and warm ladies shawl/wraps, scarves, hiking and lightweight socks. Each garment comes with its very own sheep ornament tag. So cute! There is a limited supply of these items and Dina tells me that next year's fleeces will be made into blankets – so grab these while you can.
We will be open Sunday 11-4pm, so if you need to do some holiday shopping catch-up after loosing a snow day on Saturday, come down to Ally Bally Bee and join in the fun of celebrating locally and thoughtfully made gifts, take the time to chat with our artists and park at the door – try doing any of those things at the mall!
See you soon - Morag
