Could it be the start of Spring?!

A sign of approaching Spring at Ally Bally Bee - new artists, new creations, new looks.

The snow has almost melted
The last predicted snow dump never appeared this week
 The clocks have gone forward
I'm really beginning to feel that spring is on its way

New artists

  • Elisabeth Gibson (Ridgefield) makes adorable colorful hair clips for girls and earrings which are perfect for little girls and tweens. A great new addition.
  • Welcome also Lynne Boehm (also of Ridgefield) who will transform vintage and collectable costume jewelry into great new statement pieces. Have a look at her collection in the store, but also think if you have any treasured pieces that you cherish but don't wear anymore - Lynne can recreate a special piece with even more meaning (watch out for more details about a night to meet Lynn at the store on Thursday, April 10th).
  • Traveling beyond Ridgefield we have two additional new artists from Wilton (Emmy Starr) and Westport (Debbie Smith). Emmy creates delicate earrings and bracelets from small gemstones, silver nuggets and pearls - everyone unique and lovely.
  • Debbie Smith's style is very different in contract - statement bangles, cuffs and pendants made from porcelain. Each one is a work of art and despite the impression of porcelain being fragile, its actually very strong - much stronger that stoneware, but also more challenging to work with. So every piece in the store is a carefully selected masterpiece to be treasured.

Drop by, have a peek and even meet Emmy and Debbie who will be working in the store on Wednesday and Friday mornings respectively.

Art Classes: Drop by the store on Monday mornings and you will hear lots of laughter and fun from the workshop. Wendy MacCordy has been teaching watercolors for the last 4 weeks to a great bunch of ladies. We have 1 more week to go before starting her next 6 week session and have a few places available. If you'd like to sharpen your painting skills, simply paint with some helpful advice and encouragement form Wendy or you're a complete beginner - call to reserve your spot for the next session and join this fun group.

Beading Classes: Justine Aspinwall will be taking three sessions to teach how to create intricately woven jewelry from beads. Mondays 1-2:30pm starting in April - more details to follow.

Scarf Making Workshop: Wednesday, March 26th, 10:30-11:30am. After many requests, I've at last got round to putting a date aside for scarf making. Grab a coffee from Tusk and Cup, come hang out with in the workshop, learn how to make a wrap scarf and have some fun chat. You can bring your own yarn but there's no guarantee that we will be able to use it - but I'll let you know! There are a limited number of slots so reserve your slot by calling the store.

Save the Date: Thursday April 10th, 6-8pm. Plan ahead for Mother's Day: Custom jewelry, stationary, commissioned house portraits and more. Plan a specially thought out gift for your mom.

See you soon at Ally Bally Bee!
